While we mourn his passing, we also choose to celebrate his remarkable life, his enduring legacy, and the countless people he positively impacted. Wayne’s contribution to our company and to our hearts will never be forgotten.

MANITOWOC, Wis. — Danielle Nellie Naibert, a longtime Manitowoc resident and accomplished author known for her work in the horror and thriller genres, has died following a battle with cancer.

Naibert, affectionately referred to by readers as “The Granny of Horror,” was recognized for her suspenseful novels that captivated audiences and earned her a loyal following. Drawing inspiration from her surroundings in Manitowoc, she transformed everyday settings into haunting narratives that resonated with readers far beyond Wisconsin.

Her writing career spanned several decades, during which she established herself as a distinctive voice in horror fiction. Among her published works was Cult of Mother, a novel that showcased her signature blend of suspense, emotional depth, and psychological tension.

MEDINA, Ohio — The Medina community and the University of Mount Union theatre family are rallying around Addie Wisniewski as she recovers from serious injuries sustained in a recent accident.

Wisniewski, an actress, writer, and producer, suffered a severe fall from her wheelchair last week and continues to receive medical care. Supporters across northeast Ohio have expressed concern and shared messages of encouragement as she battles her injuries.

A 2019 graduate of Highland High School, Wisniewski went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Performance from the University of Mount Union. During her time there, she appeared in several notable productions, including Shrek, where she portrayed Gingy, and Or, in which she played Lady Davenant. In addition to performing, she worked behind the scenes as an assistant director and served as executive producer, co-writer, and actor for the film Class Act, created for the Easterseals Disability Film Challenge.

Wisniewski remained active in the theater community and was recently preparing for upcoming productions of Joseph’s Troubles About Mary and The Trial Before Herod. She is well known in Cleveland’s theater scene for her versatility and commitment to the arts.

A Prayer of Adoration in support of Wisniewski and her family is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m. at Holy Martyrs Catholic Church, located at 3100 Old Weymouth Road in Medina. The service will also be available via livestream. Community members, fellow artists, and friends are invited to attend and offer prayers for her recovery.

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Residents across Lawrence are grappling with the aftermath of a fatal shooting early Saturday morning near a well-known bar by the University of Kansas campus that killed one young man and left another fighting for his life.

Officers were dispatched to The Hawk shortly before 2 a.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, police discovered two males with gunshot injuries. Witnesses said the suspects ran from the area on foot. Officers provided emergency medical assistance, secured the scene, and gathered statements from those nearby.

Within blocks of the shooting, police located several people who matched the descriptions provided by witnesses and detained them for questioning. As the investigation progressed, authorities established probable cause for criminal charges. Two individuals were later booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility, facing multiple charges including murder and aggravated assault.

The victim who died was identified as 18-year-old Caiden Clem, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, 16-year-old Daitron Lamont Daniels, was taken to a nearby trauma center and remains in critical condition.
